On 28 July 2016, Trakai District Municipality Administration signed a financing agreement and started the implementation of the project "Promotion of Cultural Tourism in Trakai and Vilnius District Municipalities by means of e-marketing" No 05.4.1-LVPA-K-808-01-0017. The project has been allocated EUR 264,113.92 from the European Regional Development Fund, the total amount is EUR 310,722.26.

The aim of the project is to increase the visibility and awareness of cultural and natural heritage sites in Trakai and Vilnius Districts by means of e-marketing. The project applicant is Trakai District Municipality Administration with partners Vilnius District Municipality Administration, Trakai Tourism Information Centre and Trakai History Museum. The project will aim to increase the visibility and awareness of cultural and natural heritage sites in Trakai and Vilnius districts by means of e-marketing:

  1. Website;
  2. Content marketing tools;
  3. Mobile application;
  4. Development and implementation of a social platform and advertising in social networks;
  5. Advertising in online portals;
  6. Advertising in search engines.

Through the implementation of the project, we foresee that at least 40 cultural and natural heritage sites will increase their visibility and attendance by means of e-marketing.
