Jonas Kietavičius was born on 21 October 1974. He graduated from Vilnius Pedagogical University (Chemistry, Biology) in 1996, and obtained a Master's degree in Natural Sciences (Chemistry) in 1998. In 2003 graduated from the English Philology programme at Vilnius Pedagogical University. In 2015, he received a Master's degree in Management (Educational Leadership Programme) from ISM University of Management and Economics.
From 1996 to 2002 he worked as a teacher at Lentvaris Motiejus Šimelionis Gymnasium, from 2002 to 2005 he was the Head of the General Education Division at Vilnius Tourism and Trade Business School, from 2005 to 2011 he worked as the elder of Lentvaris, from 2011 to 2012 he was a member of the Municipality of Trakai District, the chairman of the Committee of Budget and Finance. 2012 - 2019 - Headmaster of Lentvaris Motiejus Šimelionis Gymnasium, 2019 - 2021 - Headmaster of Vilnius "Minties" Gymnasium. 2021 - Head of the International Higher School of Law and Business.
Since 2013 he has been engaged in the academic work. Lecturer at the Lithuanian University of Educational Sciences in 2013-2018, since 2019 - Member of the Trakai District Municipality, lecturer at the Faculty of Arts and Technology, Vilnius College. Since 24 November 2021 he is Vice-Mayor of Trakai District Municipality.
J. Kietavičius is married to his wife Oksana and has a daughter Ūla.
